In order to accommodate visitors to the festival, a number of traffic restrictions will take effect during the weekend of 19 – 21 May in the area around Sandy Bay Playing Fields. Free park and ride facilities will also operate during the festival.
Pedestrian access to Sandy Bay
There will be no access to Sandy Bay for pedestrians through the gateway on Bay Park Road from 8am on Thursday 18 May. This gateway will be closed for access until Monday 22 May at 4pm.
Friday 19 May
Access will be restricted to the following from noon: Tower Road, Bay Park, Portland Road and Bay Road. Access will be restricted to residents who hold valid vehicle pass accreditation. This restrictions will remain in place until Sunday 21 May at 6pm.
Free park and ride facility
A free park and ride facility will be in operation from the Caterpillar site at the Old Glenarm Road, bringing visitors to the drop-off point at Larne Leisure Centre, close to the event site at Sandy Bay Playing Fields.
There will be three access points to the site: Rugby Road, Bay Road and Chelmsford Place. Disabled access-only via Tower Road.
There will be additional pick up and drop off points on Agnew Street.
The 359D Harbour service will also be in operation, picking up from Dunnes Stores, Main Street, and drop off at the Curran Road/Tower Road junction. Please note this is not a free service.
Times of operation for the park and ride facility are:
Friday 19 May: 2pm – 11pm
Saturday 20 May: 10.45am – 11pm
Sunday 21 May: 10.45am – 6.30pm
There will be no available car parking at Sandy Bay Playing Fields. Visitors are asked to use the park and ride facilities, which will run every 15 minutes during the festival weekend.
Parking at Curran Park will be available for Leisure Centre users only from 1pm on Saturday and Sunday with a small shuttle bus in operation.
Disabled parking will be available at Larne Leisure Centre for valid Blue Badge holders on a first come, first served basis.
All park and ride buses are wheelchair accessible.
The last bus service will depart Larne Leisure Centre at 11pm on Friday and Saturday.
