New Supporter Liaison Officers confirmed
LARNE Football Club can today confirm the appointment of Richard Todd and Callum McIlroy as Supporters Liaison Officers.
The Supporter Liaison Officers will represent the interests of both the Club and supporters by managing the flow of communications between fans and the board of directors, through continual inclusion, dialogue and feedback with all parties.
The SLO’s will be an important presence at home and away matches. They will promote fan engagement and diversity, liaising with safety officers, police and stewards to minimise potential issues.
Larne FC Chairman Gareth Clements said: “We are delighted to welcome both Richard and Callum onboard to take up these important roles within the club.
“We are always looking to build on our already strong relations with our supporters and this joint role will help to strengthen the bond between the fans and the Club.”
Richard and Callum will take up their positions with immediate effect and everyone looks forward to working with them in the months and years to come.
Due to the high quality of all the applicants for the two roles, we will also be forming a Supporter Liaison Committee. This committee will be headed by Richard and Callum in an attempt to share the workload, meeting as a group and with club officials when required. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to apply for the roles and attend the interview process.
Speaking after accepting the role, Richard Todd said: “I’m looking forward to getting started in my new role alongside Callum who will bring along a lot of modern fresh ideas. Hopefully we can be a link between the supporters and the Board and will be trying to implement some new ideas to try and build on what has already been achieved this year. In particular we hope to begin work on how to improve the atmosphere at Inver Park ahead of the 2019/20 season.”
Callum McIlroy added: “I’m happy to be appointed Junior Liaison Officer at a time when there is so much planned for the club’s future. As a group we are looking forward to creating a link between supporters on the terraces and the Board.”
